A charming village in the Paper Mills Valley

Toscolano Maderno is located in the province of Brescia, more precisely on the western shore of the magnificent Lake Garda, born from the union of two localities: Toscolano and Maderno divided by a stream.

The manufacture of paper in this locality dates back to the Middle Ages, but it is towards the end of the fifteenth century that documents are found attesting to the existence of factories that will make the village one of the most productive centers of the Serenissima.

4 places not to be missed

The long and sandy beach of Lido Azzurro , a paradisiacal glimpse equipped with every comfort where you can walk, sunbathe and take advantage of the restaurant services.

A highly recommended destination for day trips is the island of Garda, reachable by boats that leave from the enchanting Toscolano Maderno harbor.

The old bridge is a stone structure that forms an arch about twenty meters wide built in the sixteenth century.

To underline the great offer of wines, grappas and spirits typical of the region. Among the most renowned wines we find the classic Garda, the Capriano del Colle, the Cabernet, the Pinot nero, the Merlot and the Nebbiolo to name a few.

It must be said that when it comes to cooking, there is something for everyone!

How to move and where to stay

Surely the best way to enjoy the surrounding landscape is to leave the car and use the ferry to admire the lake in all its splendor. For bicycle lovers there are sites and specialized shops for rental and multiple cycle and pedestrian paths where you can spend your days strolling, especially along the lakefront.

The vacation rental is a great choice in terms of comfort. These are fully furnished villas to make your holiday a moment of tranquility, rest and immersion in nature.

Did you know that…

According to a legend, the ivy plants that embrace the trees around the lake symbolize the love between the beautiful nymph Tavina and the young shepherd Cisso.

The love between the two is hindered by the god Benaco who, envious of Cisso, decides to stab him to death. Tavine lets himself die out of desperation but the other gods, moved with compassion, transform tavine into Willow and Cisso into ivy.

The two lovers will thus be destined to remain embraced eternally.
